StravinskyThe classical concerts of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin
The Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB) is one of the most renowned orchestras in Germany and can already look back on a long history with excellent musicians, soloists, and conductors.
The orchestra’s classical concerts feature outstanding classical music of older and newer musical history as well as works by contemporary composers who are still exploring untrodden grounds.
The concert programmes of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin offer a variety of inspiring, touching, and surprising musical experiences.
The work with the principal conductor Vladimir Jurowski enriches the symphonic concerts of the RSB tremendously. Born in Moscow, he received his education in Berlin and Dresden and has been a successful artist on the big stages of the world since his early years. With his technical skill, his musical courage, and his programme selection, in which he combines classical repertoire with new, previously undiscovered or newly written works, he continues to reshape the profile of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin.
Look forward to breath-taking musical hours to please your ears and share the joy of classical orchestral music in new musical spheres with the RSB!
How can you surmount boundaries with music?
The music in the 2019/2020 season is focused on the human being with their uniqueness, with their freedom, but also with their boundaries. The latter make being human exciting – they are the resistance with which one wrestles, which one can overcome, and which first opens up the explosive power of being human and thus of the art that unbars the music. At the same time, crossing boundaries also means congress, community, and togetherness. What boundaries can be forded with music? How can you connect past with the future musically? Which horizons can an orchestra exceed? The Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin will address these questions in the 2019/2020 season with their chief conductor Vladimir Jurowski, their principal guest conductor Karina Canellakis and numerous other guest conductors.
