Friends and Supporters of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin
We love music and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. So do you? The Verein der Freunde und Förderer des Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchesters Berlin e.V. (Association of Friends and Supporters of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin) was founded in 1997 to support one of the most traditional radio ensembles in Germany in its work – by word, by deed and with financial means. The promotion of young musicians is particularly important to us, whether on a professional level or in the amateur field.
What we support
We promote special projects of the RSB through membership fees and donations. We enable the RSB the purchase of necessary materials such as music folders or instrument transport boxes, the realization of special concert and rehearsal formats for children and newcomers to classical music, as well as the purchase of handicraft materials and costumes for children’s and school concerts.
Furthermore, we support the awarding of composition commissions – such as in the 2019/2020 season to Sinem Altan for a family programme and to Marko Nikodijević for a symphony concert. We also participate in artist fees for special concert formats.
Full of Beans
Our commitment goes far beyond the financial sphere: For many smaller concert formats of the RSB you will be welcomed by our members at the doors, for all larger concerts you will find us at the information desk of the orchestra, where we will be pleased to provide you with information material and answer your questions. For our members, we provide admission to orchestral rehearsals, an annual circle of friends concert at Glienicke Castle and travelling on RSB tours at cost price, to name a few benefits. With our „house concerts“; you can bring RSB musicians to your living room for a chamber concert. Last but not least, as ambassadors of the RSB, we carry the orchestra’s work into our immediate surroundings and into the world. We would like to convince as many people as possible with our enthusiasm and cordially invite you to join us!
Are you curious and full of beans?
Also get involved in the numerous projects of the RSB: Become a member of the association and/or donate money, ideas and your active support.
The minimum contribution is € 60 per year. Young members enjoy special advantages: Until the age of 18 they are exempt from contributions, from the age of 19 up to 27 they only pay 25 €.
Your personal commitment is particularly in demand in the projects of music education, such as the annual interactive concert for children and the information stand supervision of the Friends and Supporters at the concerts of the RSB.
