MUSIC EDUCATION AND MUSICAL OUTREACH
Curiosity is the beginning of all music appreciation. With our rehearsals, concerts and workshops, we create spaces where music comes to life – through conversation, experimentation and shared experiences. Children and school classes can find their first access to the world of the orchestra here. At the same time, our formats are aimed at anyone who wants to listen more closely, learn about the background and discover music from a new perspective. Because an orchestra is more than just a concert evening, it is a place of encounter.
The music education initiative of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin aims to make classical music accessible in a variety of ways that are both enjoyable and memorable. Through a wide range of programmes, the orchestra brings people of all ages and backgrounds together and opens up new worlds of sound. From introducing children to music in nursery schools to providing school classes and adults with an in-depth insight into the world of an orchestra, the RSB creates experiences that make music tangible and promote an understanding of its diverse forms of expression. In workshops, rehearsal visits and concerts, participants can not only listen, but also actively participate, develop their own creative ideas and experience the members of the orchestra up close.
The programmes are not only designed to expand musical knowledge, but also to promote personal development and intercultural exchange. Through its collaboration with schools, daycare centres and other educational institutions, the RSB supports cultural education and provides a space for social integration and creative development. In this way, music becomes an experience that extends far beyond the concert hall and creates long-lasting, sustainable connections to the world of music.
