Out of the Box - The radioeins storytelling concert
World literature - told with sound!
“All happy families resemble one another, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.”
For the 24/25 season, the radioeins storytelling lounge has been expanded by the RSB to include the radioeins narrative concerts. In the second installment of the series, two classics of world literature take center stage in the narrative concerts, led by Oscar Jockel and Vladimir Jurowski. The literary radio format is musically enhanced by the grand symphony orchestra. The opening of Leo Tolstoy’s magnificent Anna Karenina contains one of the most famous first sentences in literature. Actress and author Meike Rötzer retells, in her own words, how the story of Anna and her search for happiness continues. Also noteworthy is The Snowstorm by Alexander Pushkin. Actress Mechthild Großmann, known among other things for her collaborations with Rainer Werner Fassbinder and from the ARD Tatort series in Münster, guides us through the tragic, wintry tale of young Maria Gavrilovna and her love for Vladimir Nikolaevich. After winter, spring usually comes.
