From the start of the 2022/23 season, Pavel Baleff will be Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Limoges Orchestra and Opera in France.
As Artistic Director of the Academy of the Orchestra National de Cannes and as a permanent guest conductor, Pavel Baleff will be closely associated with this orchestra from the 2025/2026 season.
For his many years of service as chief conductor of the Philharmonie Baden-Baden (2007-2022), Pavel Baleff has been chosen by the city of Baden-Baden as conductor in residence until 2027.
Between 2022 and 2025, he will be GMD of the Nordhausen Theatre and Loh-Orchester Sondershausen.
Engagements as an opera and concert conductor have taken him to the Vienna State Opera, Dresden Semperoper, Zurich Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Tokyo Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic and over 60 symphony orchestras in Germany alone. On the occasion of his first production of the ‘Ring der Nibelungen’ at the Sofia National Opera, he was voted Bulgarian ‘Conductor of the Year’. Pavel Baleff won the International Classical Music Award 2012 for the production ‘Slavic Opera Arias’ with Krassimira Stoyanova.
