Vasily Efimov

In the 2021/22 Season, Vasily Efimov debuts at the Bavarian State Opera in the roles of Policeman, Gentleman and Student in The Nose and will return to the Paris Bastille as Kuzka Khovanshchina followed by a return to Moscow with Bardolfo Falstaff and Dr. Blind Die Fledermaus at the Helikon Opera.

Among his future appearances are the roles Ivan, Policeman,
Student The Nose at Teatro Real in Madrid, The Devil in the concert versionof Christmas Eve with Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester, Berlin.

Highlights of his career include roles such as Prince Gvidon in The Golden Cockerel at the stage of Lyon Opera and Aix-en-Provence, Shvonder in Raskatov’s A Dog’s Heart at La Scala Milano and at the Opera National de Lyon. Also in Lyon, Efimov appeared as Prince Nilsky in The Gambler, Jakob Glock Fiery Angel.

He reprised the role of Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte in Paris, Théâtre du Châtelet, and Montpellier. He was seen as Ovlur Prince Igor at the Dutch National Opera Amsterdam and Opéra national de Paris Bastille. There, he also appeared as Wood Spirit in Snow Maiden and Kuzka Khovanshchina. Other appearances include Teatro San Carlo as the Local Nihilist in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Koutcher in the same opera at the Salzburg Festival. Almeric Iolanta at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Opera National de Lyon, Teatro Real Madrid, and Prince The Love for Three Oranges at
the Latvian National Opera.

Vasily Efimov has been a part of the ensemble of Helikon Opera Theatre Moscow since 2005 and has performed roles such as Bomely and Lykov in The Tsar’s Bride, Indian Guest in Sadko, both Lensky and Triquet in Eugene Onegin, Bayan and Finn in Ruslan and Lyudmila, Florestan in Un Marie a la porte by Offenbach, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, both Tamino and Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, Bastien in Bastien and Bastienne, Pyramus in Lampe’s Pyramus and Thisbe, Beppe in Donizetti’s Rita, Nemorino in
L’elisir d’amore, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Peter in Gretri’s Peter the Great, Simpleton in Boris Godunov, Conte Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Albazar in Il Turco in Italia, and Fenton in Falstaff.

He performed internationally in the USA, Sweden, Israel, Italy, Spain, Romania, Lithuania, France, The Netherlands, Hungary, and China. He took part in the IVAI Summer Opera Program in Tel-Aviv, Israel andthe 4th International Opernwerkstatt Schloss in Laubaсh, Germany.

Vasily started singing at the age of 7. While being part of a children choir, he took part in international tours and was a featured soloist during numerous concerts throughout Europe performing mostly music by Bach, Mozart, and Handel. Efimov is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, class of Eugenie
Kibkalo, Alexander Voroshilo. He continued his education with Cesar Ulloa, Verena Keller, Lucy Arner, Joan Dornemann, Renate Ackermann, Paul Sperry and Jean-Pierre Blivet.
