Chamber concerts at the Delphi theatre

A former silent movie theatre from the 1930s, the interior of which has been largely preserved and takes the audience back to the days of “Little Hollywood” – we’re talking about the Theater im Delphi. Chamber concerts by the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin in this extraordinary venue are already a tradition, and the orchestra will also be returning to this stage in the 2024/25 season.
In four chamber concerts with different instrumentations, the RSB will bring a variety of programmes to life. The first concert in October will feature compositions by Bach and Pärt, performed by an ensemble of string quartet, woodwinds and harpsichord, accompanied by soprano Bianca Reim and bass Wolfram Tessmer. At the beginning of the new year, the “Samtblech” ensemble will perform music ranging from Brahms to the Beatles in the charming atmosphere of the Delphi. In February, the programme also includes chamber music by Svendsen and Mendelssohn Bartholdy with a fairly large string section. In April, the last chamber concert of the season at the Theater im Delphi deals with the history of the tango – a sonic journey takes the audience from La Boca to Paris with pieces by Villodo, Piazzolla, Gardel and Bauzá, among others.
