The Theater im Delphi - a former silent film cinema from the 1930s with largely preserved original architecture - has long been one of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin's special venues. In the 2025/26 season, the RSB will once again return to this unique hall with its chamber concerts, transporting the audience straight back to the era of ‘Little Hollywood’.

The atmosphere of the Delphi is unmistakable: High, vaulted ceilings, an authentic patina, the striking stage portal and excellent room acoustics combine nostalgic charm with artistic openness and a touch of 1920s glamour. Here, past and present merge into an inspiring place for musical encounters.

The selected works fit perfectly into this setting: Mozart's dramatic, emotional quintet unfolds its full effect in the resonant hall - the theatrical aura and the special lighting conditions of the Delphi intensify the contrasts of shadow and light in the music. Schubert's famous ‘Trout Quintet’ in turn benefits from the festive, communicative atmosphere of the venue: the proximity to the audience, the intimate cabaret seating and the history of the Delphi as a place of encounter bring the work to life as if it were a historical ‘Schubertiade’.

The chamber concerts in the Delphi theatre reflect the emotional range and complexity that characterise this performance venue - a space for contemplative depth, light-hearted music-making and inspiring artistic encounters.
