Mechthild Großmann
Mechthild Großmann was born in Münster in 1948 and completed her acting training in Hamburg. Permanent and guest engagements took her to the Theater Bremen, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Schauspiel Frankfurt, among others. In 1976, she began a long-standing collaboration with dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, with whose dance theatre Mechthild Großmann toured internationally for many years. Her film and television work has connected her with Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Caroline Link and, for many years, with Tatort Münster, in which she played the prosecutor Wilhelmine Klemm until the end of 2025. She also works as an audiobook narrator and won the BEO Children’s Audiobook Award in 2015 and 2016.
