Leandro Lazzari - Principal Oboe
Born in Italy in 2001, Leandro Lazzari began studying the oboe with Professor Paolo Grazia, before continuing his studies at the Bologna Conservatory with Marino Bedetti. He then pursued further academic training in Basel under Professor Emanuel Abbühl, and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Hanover under Professor Kai Frömbgen.
In 2025, he received the Honourable Mention of the jury of the First Grade at the Prague Spring International Music Competition. In 2022, he won first prize at the Giuseppe Ferlendis International Competition, as well as numerous other national competitions.
He is currently the principal oboist with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, having begun his trial period with them in September 2025. Previously, he held a temporary contract as principal oboist with the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester and performed with several Italian orchestras, including the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, La Scala di Milano and the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Throughout his career, he has performed under renowned conductors including Daniele Gatti, Zubin Mehta, Simone Young, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Edward Gardner and Vladimir Jurowski.
