Ji Woo Yoon - Cellistin

Ji Woo Yoon is a Korean-Australian cellist who, after completing her bachelor’s degree at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media under Prof. Tilmann Wick and Paolo Bonomini, is currently studying at the Berlin University of the Arts under Prof. Konstantin Heidrich.

Her numerous international competition successes include: winner of the string category at the 2020 Valsesia Juniores Musica Competition (Italy), 1st Prize at the Melbourne Youth Orchestra Virtuosity Competition, and a special prize at the J.S. Bach and Great Romantics Competition, both organized by the Melbourne Recital Centre.

She was a prizewinner of the 2023 Tiroler Festspielhaus Erl Academy cello audition. She was an intern at the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover and held a temporary contract as a lead player with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra.

Ji Woo loves interacting with other musicians who share the same passion and finds it exciting to share her own ideas and interpretations with other artists and the audience when she is on stage.
