1:1 CONCERTS with the RSB
For many months the crisis period of the pandemic has kept us in suspense and cultural life has almost come to a standstill. In these times we feel an increasing need for closeness and personal contact. With 1:1 CONCERTS© we have now an opportunity for an authentic concert experience that takes into account all of the current Covid-19 restrictions.
1:1 CONCERTS
And it works quite simply! A 1:1 concert in ten minutes: 1 musician, 1 listener and 2 meters distance. In a special and quiet setting, a musical intimacy between musician and listener develops and a very personal concert with intense views and unique sounds! Of course with the musicians of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin.
Who started it?
The project was launched in Stuttgart together with the Staatsorchester Stuttgart and the SWR Symphonieorchester, followed by the Sächsische Staatskapelle and Philharmonie Dresden, Marbach, Theater Erfurt, Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. More information you can find here.
The objective of the 1:1 CONCERTS project is to make a substantial contribution to the preservation of our cultural landscape by bringing together musicians, listeners and hosts through the various institutions: the voluntary donations of our concert visitors go directly to the Emergency Fund of the German Orchestra Foundationor similar regional foundations supporting musicians who are in distress due to the corona-driven cancellation of all concerts and performances.
And this is how it works:
You select an available appointment from the list below and inform us by e-mail with your contact details. We will then contact you as soon as possible and inform you at the time of confirmation of the exact location where you will be in time (at least 5 minutes before the specified time window).
A host* will welcome you there and explain all the important steps so you can completely dedicate yourself to your concert experience. After a short introduction you will be guided to the venue and sit down on a free chair at a safe distance opposite the musician (the distance to the musician is at least 2 meters). Wordlessly your communication takes place in silence. The musician* will make eye contact with you and will hold it for about Hold it a minute! This creates intense moments and special impressions that inspire the musician* to play an individual piece to create a unique atmosphere.
Neither the artists nor the hosts receive a fee for this project. However, we ask you to make a donation to the emergency fund of the German Orchestra Foundation after the concert. The funds are used to support musicians* who have lost their income and are threatened by the cancellation of all concerts and performances due to Corona. In this way, you can simultaneously ensure your music enjoyment in the time after the quarantine and clearance period.
