Family concerts for children from 7 years old
Family- and school concerts with TV stars
There is much to laugh and marvel at in the family- and school concerts of the RSB: For example, when the popular TV presenter Barbara Schöneberger will come as a guest in the 2019/2020 season and presents the two children’s classical music “Carnival of animals” and “Peter and the Wolf” to the children with jest and wit.
KiKA presenter Yuri Tetzlaff will celebrates the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven in February as part of “Aşkım Beethoven” together with the RSB and the Turkish ensemble Olivinn.
Both programmes are recommended for listeners of ages of 7 years and above and take place as a family and school concert respectively.
In the participatory concerts, the young musicians get the opportunity to create a concert programme together and finally present it with the RSB musicians on stage.
Animal parade with Barbara Schöneberger
Who would have thought that there will be animals all over the orchestra?
In the orchestra suite “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns, a swan swims past in the form of a splendid cello solo and sounds of chicken and elephants can also be noticed. On the other hand, Sergei Prokofiev’s world-famous musical fairy tale “Peter and the Wolf” relates the exceptional courage of a little boy and true friendship, and skilfully puts the various orchestral instruments in the limelight.
Barbara Schöneberger takes her audience in a humorous way on a journey through the music worlds of two compositions for children and provides exciting and entertaining “Aha!” moments in doing so.

Aşkım Beethoven – Beethoven, my love
Since 2001, the TV presenter Yuri Tetzlaff, known from the KiKA, has been designing and presenting classical concerts for the whole family. After “Nachts im Museum mit Mussorgski” (“Night at the Museum with Mussorgsky”), “Babar der kleine Elefant” (“Babar the Little Elephant”) and Ravel’s cycle “Ma mère l’oye” (“Mother Goose”), “Aşkım Beethoven” is already his fifth collaborative project with the RSB and conductor Steffen Tast.
This time, the door to a world, the world of Anatolia, where the music sounds so different, opens unexpectedly.
Together with the Ensemble Olivinn and the Turkish composer Sinem Altan, Juri brings German and Turkish musical culture together.

Participatory concert for children’s orchestra
The RSB flutist Rudolf Döbler is organising a family concert for young and old, dedicated to this year’s jubilarian “Ludwig vom Rübenhof” – better known as Beethoven.
Young musicians get the opportunity to introduce different musical levels in an overall concept, be it with or without their own instrument, and to finally appear with the RSB professionals on the big stage and present the rehearsed work in concert for their relatives.
For this, they register in advance for a workshop in which they prepare for the concert repertoire together with the orchestra musicians.
